Knights of Columbus Council 2902 recently made a $3,500 donation to the Victoria Diocese seminarian program. The diocese has four who will be ordained priests and one who will be ordained as a transitional deacon, as follows:

•Deacon Jacob Koether – “I first thought about being a priest when I was around 10 years old….. After much prayer and discernment I finally became a seminarian in the summer of 2007.”

From: Bay City

Home Parish: Holy Cross Church, Bay City

Expected Date to be Ordained: June 6 (Priest)

•Deacon Scott Hill – “At the age of 4 was the first time I considered becoming a priest. However, being only 4 years old, I also wanted to do many, many other things, but the desire, the seed was planted, to become a priest. So, in 2008 I finally decided to enter the seminary and to officially discern if God was calling me to the priesthood.”

From: Mentz

Home Parish: St. Roch Catholic Church, Mentz

Expected Date to be Ordained: June 6 (Priest)

•Deacon Kristopher Fuchs – “It wasn’t until my junior year in high school that I first realized an attraction to the priesthood in moments of silent prayer before the Blessed Sacrament….It is with great joy that I give my life to God and His Church in this special and unique way.”

From: Needville

Home Parish: St. Michael’s Church, Needville

Expected Date to be Ordained: June 6 (Priest)

•Deacon Francis Nguyen – “I continue to have a strong commitment in my vocation and to my diocese through my pastoral activities. I believe that my desire for the priesthood is authentic as I feel that God is calling me.”

From: Vietnam

Home Parish: Holy Family of JMJ Church, Victoria

Expected Date to be Ordained: June 6 (Priest)

•Max Landman – “When I first began to serve Mass when I was about 9 years old, I felt a great sense of peace in the sanctuary, and was attracted to the role of the priest….After a year in the corporate world in which I could not shake the call of Jesus, I plunged into the deep of seminary.”

From: Uvalde

Landman will return to Pontifical College Josephinum in Ohio for seminary

Expected Date to be Ordained: June 6 (Transitional Deacon)
